Volunteers/Employment Opportunities

Satisfy your fascination with the past by sharing history with the community at beautiful antebellum Rosedale! Here’s a chance to work in a setting steeped in Charlotte history. Learn about your heritage and share your excitement with an interested public. We will give you the tools to become a knowledgeable and gracious interpreter of the past. Volunteers contribute to the success of Historic Rosedale Plantation in many ways. 

Employment Opportunity: Historical Interpreter

Do you have a passion for history and enjoy interfacing with the public? We’re looking for Historical Interpreters! Our tour guides get the distinction of working at Charlotte’s second oldest home and receive full training on all aspects of our history and operation. Volunteer Interpreters:

Volunteer Interpreters help connect our visitors to the past. As a volunteer interpreter you will be trained to be a Historic Docent for Historic Rosedale Plantation and be involved in both educational and outreach programming. Volunteer Positions include: Tour Guide, Living History Performer, and Research Assistant.

General Volunteers:

Administrative volunteers are the backbone of our support staff. Administrative volunteers are trained to use their organizational and leadership skills to help make events and daily operations at Historic Rosedale Plantation run smoothly. Administrative Volunteer Positions include: Special Events and Visitor Host, Garden Assistant, Clerical and Front Desk Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, and Hospitality Assistant.
