Historic Rosedale Haunted History Tour

A Look at the Victorian Funeral

Friday, October 23

Time: 7:00-8:00 PM (gates open at 6:30 for check-in)

Cost: $20 (Early Bird) $25 (Week Of)

We take a break from our usual Haunted History Tour to explore the traditions and elements of the Victorian funeral. Rosedale resident, Dr. David Caldwell, died the same year as Price Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband –yes, the very Queen who the Victorian age is named after. Along with members of the Charlotte Area Paranormal Society (CAPS), the Historic Rosedale staff will discuss funeral traditions -some macabre, some sentimental – and lead you through our 1815 home as it would have looked during a mourning period. The tour will be held both inside the house and outside in the gardens and grounds surrounding our historic house and reconstructed blacksmith shop. Spaces for this tour are limited to 20 persons for a properly social distanced experience and to prevent, as the Victorians believed, the spirits of the dead from taking the spirits of the living with them!

This event takes place rain or shine – no refunds will be given. This is not a Ghost Hunt. Please purchase your tickets online and bring proof of your receipt (on your phone) on the night of the event for a contactless experience – this receipt will serve as your ticket. No other tickets will be issued.

• We require that all guests wear a face covering & respectfully ask you to practice social distancing while on the tour.

• Restroom facilities will be open at 50% capacity

• Hand sanitizer will be available
