Alfred's Voice: The American Dream

Alfred's Voice: The American Dream | 02.02.2013

Seen as the weakest link in the southern economy, poor and land-less white farmers fought to gain their voice in a Society where they fared the worst.

Meet Alfred, who suffers great hostilities from fellow southerners in the planter class as he shares his version of the ante-bellum American dream and how he longs to become part of the very system he despises. This program will begin with a tour of the plantation home at the regular tour times of 1:30 and 3 pm followed by the thirty minute living history interpretation “Alfred’s Voice.”
