CPCC Department Chair, Steve Gore, will discuss the concept of “Fool’s Gold” and how it affected the citizens of our region during the Charlotte Gold Rush. He will be showing us how to “pan” or search for gold and the areas that gold may be found.

The tour begins under the Swamp Chestnut near the area where the slave quarters stood. You will walk in the steps of those who worked, lived, and died here. Some believe the former inhabitants still reside at Rosedale. Hear the untold stories of those who have experienced strange occurrences. What will you see . . . or who will you hear? Could it be Elbert, former “conjure man” of Rosedale or Archibald Frew, the ill-fated original owner? On line advance reservations encouraged. No refunds under any circumstances.

This tour is perfect for those who wish to learn the true intimacies of this charming historic home. Learn about supernatural “incidents” in the house while seeing it as the last two descendants did during the late hours of the night. The ethereal may be experienced.
